Our History
Defined by Service, Growth, and Community
The Rotary Club of Emporia has a long-standing tradition of service and leadership in the community. Since its founding in 1917, our club has been dedicated to improving the quality of life in Emporia through hands-on projects, partnerships, and philanthropic efforts. Over the years, members have supported initiatives ranging from education and youth leadership programs to local infrastructure improvements and charitable outreach.
As part of a global network that began in 1905, the Rotary Club of Emporia has remained committed to adapting to the changing needs of the community while staying rooted in Rotary’s core values. Our history is defined by service, growth, and a strong sense of community; qualities that continue to guide us today.

Vision
Service Above Self
Our vision is to foster a vibrant, compassionate community where individuals are inspired to live out Rotary’s guiding principle of “Service Above Self.” The Rotary Club of Emporia strives to create meaningful, lasting change by empowering members and partners to serve with integrity, lead with purpose, and build connections that strengthen both our local community and the world.
We are guided by Rotary’s Four-Way Test in everything we do: Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned? These principles shape our decisions, our service projects, and our relationships. Looking ahead, we remain committed to growing our impact through collaboration, inclusivity, and a shared dedication to making a difference for generations to come.
