Ron Thomas, General Manager of Emporia's Radio Stations, was on hand depicting his story of Ron's Ride, a fund raiser for Special Olympics. Funds donated go toward providing the trip for special olympians to the Kansas Special Olympics in Wichita each summer. Donations to our Rotary Club's Happy Bucks during next January through March will be given to Ron's Ride.Ron, who will be in his 30th year at KVOE next year, is dedicated to the live and local format at Emporia's Radio Stations. So far this year, they have conducted 900 local interviews for their morning show. Ron took the lead when over 32,000 food items were collected recently for the Salvation Army food pantry. The radio station was started in 1939.
