Kansas leads the world in the success of each student. That sentence is the vision of the Kansas State Board of Education according to Jim Porter, its Chairman and one of it's ten members. Jim told our club how the members of the board are working to build a system to live out that vision. They are working to help each student in Kansas be successful in life. By asking the question, "What does a successful 24 year old look like?", they are implementing standards to accomplish that vision. The resulting skills for each student include academic skills, technical skills, giving back to the community, ability to work with others, and capable of being life-long learners.
